Weekly Recap #2: Week of April 22nd
So much has happened in K-pop this week and I’ve been dying to talk about it so let’s get straight into it!
Music Releases and Announcements!
- SEVENTEEN announced their fifth full-length album (AGHHH!) , Happy Burstday, scheduled for release on May 26th. Alongside the album, they revealed plans for a new tour! (Lord save me and let me earn some more money for these tickets!)

- TWS released their third EP, Try With Us, marking a transition into their twenties and showcasing their growth as artists.
- ONEW (SHINee) made a comeback with his new single “MAD,” showcasing his vocal prowess.
- Kai (EXO) released his fourth mini-album, Wait On Me, on April 21 (out now!), featuring the title track of the same name.
From Seoul With Love: Jin, Twice & Coldplay Made Magic Happen
Coldplay’s in Seoul for six massive nights as part of their Spheres World Tour (April 16–25), but nothing could’ve prepared fans for what went down on April 19th. Yes, that night. The one everyone’s losing their minds over. And if that wasn’t enough?! TWICE is opening for all six shows (which is absolutely incredible, by the way), and people, including me, can’t get over their insanely hot looks on stage! Their leader, Jihyo, looks like a bright shining diamond on stage. She glows like the absolute main character she is!
Jin (from BTS) made a special, surprise appearance as well and the stadium ERUPTED in cheers for our Seokjin. He stepped into the spotlight during Coldplay’s “Songbook” segment, casually holding up a sign that read, “Can I sing? Pick me up?”
Chris Martin saw him, called him up on stage, and what happened next was magic. Jin and Chris performed “The Astronaut” together: the very song Coldplay co-wrote for him before he enlisted. To say I cried was an understatement of the century! THEN… they hit us with “My Universe.” A song BTS created with Coldplay, brought to life again—this time with Jin shining solo. Chris literally leaned on Jin’s shoulder while playing piano and my heart? It nearly combusted with joy. I could feel all the excitement and joy through the screen as I watched fan-cams on Tiktok!
UPDATE: As I am writing this, Rosé from BLACKPINK was just on stage (today April 22nd, yesterday South Korea time) with Coldplay to perform her hit song, “APT”! LIKE WHAT?! Such a cool collab! Can’t wait to see who else Coldplay brings on stage during their concerts in Seoul!
Chart Check In:
- Le Sserafim’s “Hot” climbs back to the top spot! (And honestly, as it should. That song has grown on me so much, it’s such a bop.)
- Jennie (from BLACKPINK) song “Like Jennie” is currently staying strong at #2.
- G-Dragon’s “TOO BAD” featuring Anderson .Paak drops to third spot.
TXT Takeover: Yeonjun Being Iconic, Dior Drips, & a New Era Incoming
New Single News!
TXT (aka Tomorrow by Together) announced recently their new upcoming digital single, called “Love Language” will be dropping May 2nd! (Which is very soon MOA’S!) They teased it during their iconic performance at AXE Ceremonia in Mexico and screams could be heard from all around the world!
Yeonjun’s Talk Show Moment That Took Over Twitter
Okay but… Yeonjun on the recent Korean talk show? He didn’t just show up he owned the whole damn atmosphere. At one point, the host mentioned that some guests were intimidated by him, and Yeonjun, with the most calm, savage grace imaginable, said:
“They weren’t scared. They were envious.”
LIKE SIR??? Confidence levels are through the roof. (One of the many reasons why he’s my bias for a reason!) Fans immediately turned that clip into an instant classic: MOAs are calling it his main character moment, and honestly, they’re right. We don’t just support Yeonjun supremacy, we absolutely require it.
Wait… What’s That Viral Mirror Pic of Yeonjun?!
You’ve definitely seen it. Yeonjun standing in a mirrored room surrounded by white dresses, looking like he just stepped out of a Vogue editorial.
Let’s clear it up:
That photo? Not from this year’s Dior show. It’s actually from Dior’s La Galerie exhibit in Paris, taken back in 2024 when the boys were attending Fashion Week. But TikTok and Twitter brought it back to life this week (and rightfully so). Yeonjun looked like a literal work of art. If that pic goes viral every year, we will happily repost it every single time. The picture in question is down below!:
