Enhypen’s “Loose” Review: Their Boldest English Song Yet?
I’ve listened to a few songs by Enhypen before and genuinely enjoyed their music—tracks like Drunk-Dazed, Tamed-Dashed, Bite Me, Future Perfect (Pass the Mic), and Sweet Venom have all stood out to me. But I definitely wasn’t expecting “Loose” to sound the way it did.
Surprised is an understatement—but in the best way possible.
Most K-pop English tracks tend to lean upbeat, bright, and fun. But Enhypen’s “Loose” flips the script completely. It sets a darker, groovier tone that feels bold and refreshing—and honestly, I really hope this song helps broaden the creative scope of K-pop English releases overall.
When I first listened to it, I didn’t know how to feel. It was unexpected, funky, and just… different. I sat with it for a few days, let it marinate—and now? I’m kind of obsessed.
It gives me a Pharrell/Robin Thicke meets Nick Jonas vibe, especially with those falsetto high notes and slick rhythm. There’s something so smooth about it—simple, yet it hits all the right places.
Whoever was singing the beginning part of the chorus—please let me know! His voice was amazing and seriously sent shivers down my spine. Not me casually falling for a group I barely know thanks to one of their new moody English tracks! If Enhypen keeps dropping more bangers, I might just have to do a deep dive into their discography.
The bridge was definitely one of my favorite parts. It had this subtle acapella moment, with a light layer of guitar in the background? So good.
This is such an easy listen—something that could fit perfectly into any Western R&B/Pop playlist. It’s low-key, vibey, and just cool.
Do you have any Enhypen recs for me to listen to next? I’d love to hear more of their stuff! Who’s your bias, by the way? Drop a comment below—I’m open to falling even deeper down the rabbit hole 👀!
